Currency markets react to scheduled data releases. This calendar lists the high-impact events — rate decisions, CPI, GDP and employment reports — that most often move major pairs.
Each event carries an impact rating. High-impact events such as Federal Reserve rate decisions or US Non-Farm Payrolls can move major pairs by 50–100 pips within minutes. Forecast and previous values give context; markets react to the surprise versus the forecast, not the headline number.
Be aware of the release time: scheduled data often causes spreads to widen for a few minutes before and after the release.
Central-bank rate decisions, CPI inflation and employment data have the largest immediate impact.
Most releases are scheduled in local exchange time; we show GMT/UTC for consistency.
